I missed it yesterday, so I wanted to spend some time today to create a digital scrapbook page! So here’s my creation using a photo from this weekend.

I went to the my nearest Scrapbook Expo event in Ontario, California last Saturday and had a fabulous time! I only had a pass to the exhibit floor ($8), but that alone kept me occupied for hours. Imagine if I signed up for the workshops!

I started walking down each aisle and watched the demos that interested me. First stop was the Cricut demo. It was so crowded that I thought it was best to move onto the next booths.

I worked my way down the aisles and bought a few things along of the way. Most things are a lot cheaper. And there are some booths that sell things in bulk!

Since this is my first Scrapbook Expo, I thought I’d share some times with you tips that I picked up:

• Bring snacks - if you’re anything like me, you get so involved that you forget (or don’t want to leave) to eat.
• Definitely need walking shoes - lots of aisles, lots to buy, need to be able to move quickly. ;)
• If you could, leave the kids at home. It’s your “me” time.
• Bring a big bag, you’ll be spending a lot. You may need something to carry your papers and stickers.
• Rest well the night before. It could get overwhelming - lots to do, and it could be very crowded.
• Bring cash, else you will over-spend!
• Bring zip-lock bags to keep your projects in.
• Keep your eyes opened for bargains and show specials! (Some booths may sell things cheaper than others.)
• Bring photo/projects you want to work on to buy the right papers and embellishments
• Duh, bring a camera to capture your experience! Not to mention ideas and inspiration.

Well, if I had kids, this would be true. But for now, my friends call me the paparazzi. Funny how I have a camera in my hand also. :)

I had an AMAZING time at the Scrapbook Expo! Simply amazing! I only had a pass to the exhibit area, but that alone kept me very occupied. So many things to buy, make, do, etc.. that I wish I had more hands to do them. :)

I met a lot of wonderful people! Two that I’d like to mention are Elena and Jennifer from Scrapbook Royalty, a wonderful organization that scrapbook for a cause.

Scrapbook Royalty is dedicated to raising money and awareness for “Noble” causes. We hold “Crops of Distinction”, to satisfy your “Royal” scrapbooking desires. 100% of the money raised by participants, silent auctions, and raffles is donated to charities.

Today I had the opportunity of making cards for our troops. These blank cards are sent to our troops, and they can use them to write a little note and send back home. Isn’t that sweet? Organizations that help our troops know that they’re in our thoughts really make me smile. We love you, and thank you for protecting all of us.

I finally finished photographing all the cards I made in my Rubber Stamping class from two weeks ago. Aren’t they beautiful? :) Thanks you Sarah (my teacher) for designing the cards. The special Candy Corn one was designed by Joanne. :) I had a ton of fun making them!

Be sure to stop the scrapbook section at places like Walmart too! Although the selection is small, you can find a few unique things too. This is at the Honolulu Walmart. I couldn’t resist picking up a Hawaiian scrapbook kit.

Cute clock project!

I saw this Love Frame Project in the scrapbook store today and loved it! It’s so simple to make, yet so inspiring and makes me feel happy. I’ll probably work on this project one day with a wedding photo or something.

Every scrapper needs adhesive! So I was very happy to find this deal at Costco today. A 6 pack of Memory Stor Double-sided Adhesives for only $13.99. They range from $3-6 each at most places. Hope you pick some up soon!

Is anyone planning to go to the Scrapbook Expo? There are 4 more coming up for this year — San Diego, Sacramento, Ontario, and Tampa, FL. I’m planning to go to the one on Ontario, CA on Saturday, October 25th. Carpool/meetup? ;)

I was at my favorite scrapbook store again! Yes, Collective Journey! I bought a few things.. and couldn’t resist taking a photo of this. It’s a July display with bbq grill and stuff. Everything on top of the grill, table, etc. are made of paper, ribbons, and lots of adhesives! ;)

And look at that.. a way for me to sneak in some scrapbooking. haha I gave her son a Dodgers outfit, with cap and everything. So in the card, I said “Instead of naming your child after one of us, just promise to make him a Dodgers fan!”
