Scrappity Scrap

If you got the Sunday paper last week, you might have noticed all of the coupons in the Michaels ad! Everytime I see their ad, it brings a smile to my face. But this ad was extra special. It had before Easter sales, and some special coupons. One coupon was for 50% any regular priced item. 50% off! You don’t see those very often. Lucky me, one newspaper was sent to Al’s parents’ house, and one was sent to our apartment. ;) The coupon is only valid on Friday, April 9, between 8am and 1pm.

I did research the night before on the tools that I wanted and knew were not on sale (coupon was only valid on regular priced items). These were the two things I picked out: Paper Crimper and 45mm Rotary Victorian Blade.

So Friday, I was really excited about going to lunch. We left a few minutes after 12pm, and headed straight to Michaels. Boy, the store was packed! It was more crowded on this Friday afternoon than on any Saturday! Everyone (mostly women) were walking around waving the ad in their hands. This one lady looked so excited when she was asking her friend if she got the coupon too. haha If you have no coupon, you really have no reason for being there on a weekday afternoon! These people, like me, must have taken their lunch hour off to run to Michaels.

I took me less than 15 minutes to shop since I knew exactly what I wanted (but I was distracted by the other sales). However, it took me a lot longer standing in line. This one lady in line said to me, “you’d think it wouldn’t be so crowded at this time of day..” I just smiled and said to her, “ahh, but everyone here has a coupon!” She asked me what coupon, and I showed her. I had wo 40% coupons too, so I gave those to her. :)

I was finally out the door at 12:45pm, and rushed to buy some food before my lunch hour was over. What an exciting lunch break. Well, from a scrapbooker’s point of view, it was very exciting.
