Simple Shadow Box Project

Shadow boxShadowboxes were on sale this week at Michael’s for 50% off, so I had to pick up two. I was going to get one of the big ones, but I decided to start small first.

I’ve been fascinated with shadowboxes ever since I saw some at Target for Valentine’s day. I didn’t get one then because they were kind of pricey. But these ones are definitely affordable — only $5 after the sale.

What exactly is a shadowbox? Well, it’s like a 3d photo frame. But instead of just holding a photo, it can also contain mementos, other decorations and objects to give it a 3d effect.

I created a simple shadowbox today conisting of a white wood frame, rose petals, and a photo. I opened the box and taped the photo on the velet back, dropped in a few rose petals, and closed the box. Viola, a complete shadowbox! :)
