It’s National Craft Month!
Crafting is an enjoyable activity that continues to gain popularity because of all the benefits it provides. It helps reduce stress, builds children’s self-esteem and learning skills, is emotionally pleasing, and most importantly – it’s fun. Nothing is quite as satisfying as making something with your own hands – no matter your age or skill level. Because it is such a well-liked pastime, the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) has dedicated the entire month of March to celebrating all that crafting has to offer.
During March, craft retailers around the country will offer special classes, demonstrations, tips and projects to get customers involved. Many stores will have a new craft theme each week of the month that highlights a different crafting category, such as needlecrafts, home décor, scrapbooking and kid’s crafts.
National Craft Month will culminate on Saturday, March 27th with a one-day happening entitled Look! I Made It Myself..A Kid’s Craft Day. Craft and hobby retailers nationwide will offer a variety of fun-filled craft activities to introduce families and kids to the joys of crafting.
